A one day conference for Christians to be equipped and ready to defend their faith
Learn, Grow, Defend
Set aside one day to learn about the defense of the Christian faith
in light of an increasingly antagonistic world.
Join us for our inaugural Day of Apologetics conference as we explore the topic of apologetics and how it relates to discipleship, evangelism, and every day life. As the world around us continues to be pluralistic and increasingly antagonistic, there is no better time to learn what it means to defend our faith faithfully.
This year’s conference will feature:
Keynote addresses by local experts.
Musical Worship led by a local worship team.
Networking, fellowship, food, and coffee.
Keynote Speakers
DANIEL L. ARTER has been in ministry for over thirteen years in which the last three years he has served as the primary teaching pastor at Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania while also serving as a corporate chaplain throughout the Central Pennsylvania region. Prior to pastoring at Grace, Daniel served as an assistant pastor, interim pastor, and youth pastor at churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
His heart in ministry is intentional discipleship through expositional preaching and teaching, as well as apologetics-related training for the local church. Really, he simply wants to encourage God’s people to worship Jesus by equipping them and making more disciples.
Daniel’s research interests include systematic theology, apologetics, and philosophy; and he hopes to develop an accessible apologetics-focused systematic theology for the church as part of his research and study. Find out more about him and his work at www.danielarter.com.
CHRISTOPHER ELLIS OSTERBROK is a PhD student of Historical Theology under the supervision of Dr. Adriaan C. Neele. Christopher’s research concerns Particular Baptist Joseph Ivimey (1773–1834) and his historiography. Ivimey’s four-volume A History of English Baptists, his contributions through Baptist Magazine, many sermons, tracts, and letters reveal much about the crafting of history in the long eighteenth century—Christopher desires to clarify the nature and perspective of Ivimey’s craft, as well as discover Ivimey’s utility of historical writing for the advancement of the church.
Christopher earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies and his M.A.R. in Old Testament from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He then earned his Doctor of Educational Ministry in Biblical Spirituality from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Through his academic ventures Christopher served as associate pastor of Mount Washington Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Hamilton, Ohio. He is now, by the abiding grace of God, the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. He and his wife Emily, and their three daughters, love living in the forests of PA, homeschooling, and collecting plants and books.
When not pastoring or researching, Christopher serves as the Reprint Project Manager for H&E Publishing. He also has great interest in Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. He also enjoys preaching, teaching, speaking, and writing.
TAYLOR-LEIGH THOMAS has been serving in ministry for over twenty years. He holds a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies from Cairn University, as well as a Master's in Christian Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary. He's worked in local churches and missions internationally, in the US, the continent of Africa, and India training Christians and evangelizing the unbelieving world. Currently, he runs a business ministry called Terraform Apologetics that trains people to share the gospel and defend the historic Christian faith.
He has a passion to change the narrative around sharing the gospel, where people can feel confident to get into the Good News about Jesus with anyone in their everyday relationships. He's also driven to put tools in people's hands to understand not only what Christianity teaches but why it's true. Although his favorite flavor of music is Rap, he enjoys everything from Classical to Jazz to Alternative Rock to Hymns.
Taylor has been in the Christian subculture of America and elsewhere. Many Christians have had questions about their faith, looking for answers in the darkness of suffering and doubt, only to be given a bumper sticker reply or to be criticized for their honest wrestling. Taylor is always aiming to represent Jesus well in being real about the struggles and talking honestly through suffering and doubt with those who are willing. Reach out to him through Facebook or message him on the old mobile phone: (814) 496-0996.
